With a high of 24 °C and a low of 14 °C feels like 12 °C.Sun in all its glory until tea-time. Ultraviolet (UV) light peaks at 6 and 7 near and around lunchtime for a couple of hours.
Then sunny intervals until just before the close of play with a cloud-free return of the sun to round off the day. An ideal time for a walk to enjoy a glorious sunset (UV drops to 1 about this time of day).
A clear sky overnight, and we should awake to either sunny intervals or the sun in all its glory on Saturday morning.
Wind: Easterly, (Easterly), East North Easterly, North Easterly, (North Easterly), North Easterly, Easterly, North Easterly, (Northerly)
Speed:4-(8)-11-(8)-4-(5) mph
Gusts: 5-(10)-15-(12)-6-(7) mph
Risks: Should you wish to venture out please do put some sun protection on and please avoid going out in the high UV levels between 1:55 and 3:05 pm. An Easterly wind for most of the day means there is a risk of planes overhead from Edinburgh Airport. However, most scheduled flights have been cancelled because of the pandemic and this just leaves in the main essential cargo flights. The Easterly wind will continue off and on until at least Thursday. There may well be some mist or fog near the coast and therefore if you are using the Queensferry Crossing or Forth Road Bridge do take care. Tonight there is a risk of surprise rainfall from time to time but none has been forecast locally.
That is it from me, and do have a fantastic Friday. The birds are singing, it is more like a happy Eurovision Song Contest today. Some birdies have heard from as far away as Inverkeithing that there is not much of a breeze in the air there today, but it is a beautiful day there too!
