Here is the weather for Friday
A cold evening with temperatures below zero. Beware of ice on the roads, under bridges and trees. Take care while out and about tonight when walking or driving. Risk of snow early tomorrow and throughout the day.
Summary and temperature:
Temp: A high of 39 °F (4 °C) and a low of 23 °F (-5 °C)
Sunny all morning
The sun should be out in all its glory until the close of play. Then we should have a clear night sky until tea-time.
At about tea-time, there should be some cloud followed by a clear sky until an hour or more before midnight
Wind: Mainly West North Westerly, with Westerly only winds about now and just after tea
Speed: Starts at 5 mph reaches a high 9 mph just before tea then drops to 8 before midnight
Gusts: Start at 14 mph reach 18 mph just before tea then drops to 14 near that midnight hour.
Of showers throughout the day and heavier showers overnight.
Ice on roads and pavement particularly tonight and the first thing on Saturday morning when the temperature will drop to -6C. A high risk for essential workers in addition to COVID-19. Take it nice and easy when going to work. Some forecasters say that there may be snow tomorrow (Saturday).
Time for me to log-off:
I hope you have a fantastic Friday on the first day of 2021. It is a bank holiday and do enjoy your day. It is a wonderful time to be home with your family. If you know of anyone alone, make contact by telephone or FaceTime.
The birds are tweeting. They are happy after their New Year’s Eve binge on Golden Seeds. They have hatched a plan to import the seeds avoiding customs. They are just going to do a simple fly over once they return to Scotland from the Champagne region of France.
