With a high of 15 °C and a low of 11 °C feels like 10 °C.
A cloudy morning with mist early this morning that may continue until after 10 am. From lunchtime, the mist will return for an hour or two. After which there will be cloud until tea time. The bad news is that there is over a 75% risk of heavy rain from 3:55 pm until before tea.
During and after tea for an hour or two there is more than a 49% chance of light rain, again for an hour or two. Then there is cloud until midnight.
Wind: North Easterly, Easterly, East South Easterly, (Easterly), Easterly, (East North Easterly), (East North Easterly)
Speed: 7-8-(6)-10-9-(10)-8-9-7-(8) mph
Gusts: 11-9-(10)-(15)-13-14-(12) mph
Risks: Mist near the coast and on the river. Risk of fog on the three bridges, Forth Road Bridge (for buses and taxis), Queensferry Crossing and Kincardine Bridge. That is for this morning and at lunchtime. But there is a risk of more surprise mist patches and drizzle throughout the day. As you all know when there is an Easterly wind it is likely that we could have planes flying overhead from Edinburgh Airport. The Southerly and Westerly winds should return on Saturday at about 10 am. Meanwhile, the pandemic has reduced the overhead plane risk as most scheduled flights have been cancelled.
That is it from me and have a magical Monday. The birds were having fun this morning, singing their early morning wake up call. I checked my alarm-clock and looked at the time. The clock hands (or more correctly my mobile phone display) showed that it was 4 am. I yawned, put my ear muffs on and promptly went back to sleep. Woke at 7 am, and they were happily singing their songs. I am sure I muttered something when I first woke up! Something along the lines “Oh how lovely”. But everything is a bit vague at such an early hour of the morning.
